Meet Shana French
I was born in Steubenville Ohio and attended Buckeye Local Schools from Kindergarten to 12th Grade. When I graduated, I headed to Capital University in Bexley Ohio where I met my husband, Chris. In 2005 I graduated with a degree in Business Management. Together, we moved to Reynoldsburg Ohio in 2010 and got married. A few years later, I got pregnant with our son Blaise. At this point I left my career and became a stay at home mom. My daughter Alexandria was born a couple of years later.
After my daughter passed her 2nd birthday, I decided it was time to get back into the world. I became a more active volunteer and started auditioning for plays and musicals. I learned about the issues surrounding our school district and became an officer for our PTO. Last year I was asked to be treasurer for our school levy, and I accepted. I learned so much from that experience, and met some outstanding people that work for our Reynoldsburg City Schools.
After contemplating for several months, I decided to run for the Reynoldsburg Board of Education to take on a new role in shaping our district’s success. In particular, I want to bring a positive image of our district to our community, stand up for all of our students regardless of their background, and help elicit feedback and assistance for when the next levy comes on the ballot. I believe that having representatives on our school board that support public education is important, and I am happy to say I am one of three candidates that support it.
